Day 1 - Arrive Edinburgh and check into your city center hotel. Enjoy your evening meal and overnight stay.

Day 2 - Edinburgh and the Trossachs
This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city. Discover the contrasts between the medieval "Old Town" and the treelined avenues and squares of the Georgian "New Town". The tour ends with a visit to Edinburgh Castle. Early afternoon you will leave Edinburgh and travel through the beautiful Trossachs Hills with its mountainous landscape enroute to Loch Katrine. Here you will join a cruise on the steamboat "Sir Walter Scott". Return Southwest to Glasgow for evening meal and overnight stay.

Day 3 - Scotland in Miniature
Leaving you hotel travel down the Ayrshire coast where you can see the spectacular outline of the Isle of Arran. Leaving Ardrossan by ferry you will travel across to Arran arriving at Brodick. Often described as "Scotland in Miniature" the Isle of Arran has something different around every corner. Visit Brodick Castle - the ancent seat of the Dukes of Hamilton situated in its own country park. The tour will allow you to explore the stunning mountains, forests, and amazing coastline. Before you make the crossing back to the mainland, enjoy an afternoon tea stop on the island. Return to your Glasgow hotel for evening meal and overnight.

Day 4 - Lochs, Castles, and Gardens
After your full Scottish breakfast, travel Northwest to the banks of Loch Lomond, the inspiration of many poets, and songwriters. From here your journey will continue onto the picturesque highland village of Inveraray, situated at the end of the sea loch of Loch Fyne. The tour includes a visit to Inverary Castle, residence of the Duke of Argyll, featureing a wonderful collection of antiques, including several paintings by Gainsborough. Leaving Inveraray the tour continues through the beautiful landscape of Argyll, stoppoing at Arduaine Gardens. Here you will find the glorious flora and fauna bursting with color from late spring and throughout the summer. Continue on to Oban where you can enjoy free time to explore this picturesque seaside town before preparing for your evening meal and overnight accommodation.

Day 5 - Highlands and Islands
This morning, your journey continues North through the dramatic landscape of the Highlands. Enjoy free time in Fort William, set in the shadow of the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis. Leave Fort WIlliam on the West Highland Steam Train for an unforgettable journey. Cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct and pass the white sands of Morar to Mallaig. Next, take a ferry to the Isle of Skye, one of the most beautiful and romantic islands in the Scottish Highlands. Check into your hotel, enjoy your evening meal and overnight.

Day 6 - The Romantic Isle
Today you have the opportunity to visit Dunvegan Castle; the seat of the clan chieftain of the clan MacLeod. This historic stronghold is more than 700 years old, overlooking a sea loch. Visitors can have the option of taking a trip by boat to the nearby seal colony in Dunvegan Loch. Leaving Dunvegan, your tour crosses the Skye Bridge back onto mainland passing Eilean Donan Castle. Here you will have some free time - the perfect opportunity for a photo-stop, or perhaps to take the option of visiting the castle. Rejoining the coach, the journey then passes through Glen Morrison to join the famous, mysterious waters of Loch Ness - if you are lucky you may catch sight of "Nessie" - otherwise known as the Loch Ness Monster! Visit Urquhart Castle on the banks of the Loch before continuing north to the Inverness area for your evening meal and overnight.

Day 7 - The Water of Life
This morning, your journey will be continuing into Speyside, home of eight distilleries all proud of their rich history in the manufacture of the national drink - whisky! The tour includes a visit to one of these distilleries where you will learn the secrets of making whisky, ending with a tasting of "The Water of Life. LEaving the Speyside area, travel south through the Drummochter Pass and onto Perth. Here you will visit Scone Palace, the family home of the Earl of Mansfield. The tour includes a visit to the grand apartments of the Palace and the coronation site. Continue to Edinburgh for overnight and the option of joining a Scottish Evening featuring Highland music, dancing and haggis, or during August - the spectacular Military Tattoo!

Day 8 - Farewell!
Sadly, it's time to make your way to the airport for your flight home.
