DAY
ONE
Your tour commences in Britain's famous capital city and the beginning
of the book - London. Visit London Zoo, which transformed into Little
Whinging Zoo in the book. The scene of Harry's conversation with the
snake took place in the reptile house of London Zoo.
Stay overnight in London.
DAY TWO
Spend the day viewing the Harry Potter sights of London. Visit Kings
Cross Station to see platform 9 ¾ where Harry starts his journey
to Hogwarts School of Wizardry. Carry on to Australia House on the
Strand, home of the Australian High Commission, which was transformed
into Gringotts Wizarding Bank. Take a stroll down Charing Cross Road.
Down this road is the entrance to Diagon Alley where all the Wizard
shops are. Take advantage of the fact that you are in one of the most
famous Capital Cities and enjoy many of the other attractions such
as the spine chilling London Dungeons, Buckingham Palace, The London
Eye, Madame Taussard's or perhaps enjoy a hop on, hop off sightseeing
bus tour encompassing all of the sights! In the evening, take in a
theatre show or join a Murder Trail and walk in the footsteps of the
notorious "Jack the Ripper".

DAY THREE
Pick up a rental car and drive to the ancient university city of Oxford
for your next Harry Potter sights. Visit Christ Church College, Oxfords
largest college, which was used to stage a number of Hogwarts interior
scenes and whose Great Hall was used to accommodate the great feasts
at the school. Also take in the famous Bodleian Library. The Duke
Humphrey's Library featured as Hogwarts Library in the film and the
Divinity School became the Hospital wing. Hop on hop off sightseeing
open top bus tours offers a simple way to see the highlights of the
city.
From Oxford, visit the medieval village of Lacock. This village inspired
the image of Godric's Hollow - where Harry lived with his parents.
Lacock Abbey was also used in various Hogwarts School scenes.
Arrive in Gloucester for your third Night's accommodation.

DAY FOUR
Spend the morning in the Cathedral City of Gloucester. The Cathedral,
famous for it's Gothic architecture, was the perfect setting for many
of the Hogwarts interior scenes. Pupils from the Kings School, which
adjoins the Cathedral, were used as film extras! Whilst in Gloucester,
visit the famous Docks, which is surrounded by Victorian Warehouses
and enjoy the museums - The National Waterways and The Regimental
Museums. By afternoon, drive up through the Cotswolds, to Stratford-upon-Avon
- Shakespeare's birthplace. Or alternatively visit Warwick Castle
- Britain's finest complete medieval fortress - and see castle life
re-enacted. The dungeons and torture chambers are a great attraction.

Stay overnight in Stratford-upon-Avon
DAY FIVE
Drive North to York. Enter the North Yorkshire Moors National Parks
to see Goathland Station, which was transformed into Hogsmead Station
where Harry arrived for his first year at Hogwarts School of Wizardry.
Take a nostalgic steam train journey or continue through the National
Park to beautiful stately house of Castle Howard.

Stay overnight in York
DAY SIX
Spend the day exploring the historic city of York with its National
Railway Museum, the Castle (folk life) Museum and Jorvik Viking Experience.
York Minster, one of England's finest Cathedrals and the medieval
city walls and old streets and buildings all creates a wonderful days
sightseeing on foot or by an open top bus tour. In the evening a Ghost
walk will show an altogether different and spookier city.

DAY SEVEN
Head further North and make a stop at Durham Cathedral where the Christmas
Scenes were filmed. Durhams castle is also famed for its beauty and
superb location. In the afternoon, drive to Alnwick Castle, the scene
of Harry's first flying lesson. The Castle courtyard was the location
for scenes at Hogwarts School.

Stay overnight in Newcastle-upon-Tyne
DAY EIGHT
Head for border back to Scotland, over the Cheviot Hills through the
Northumbrian National Park into the Scottish Borders famous for the
Scottish Tweeds and Woollen Mills and shops and onto Edinburgh. Visit
the Zoo to see the owls similar to Harry's, Hedwig. Or take a hop
on hop off sightseeing tour of Edinburgh. The brave and curious will
want to join Edinburgh's famous evening Ghost Walks.
