A much loved warm and welcoming family home, this 19th century
manor house furnished with antiques and set in three acres of
delightful gardens and grounds with hidden tunnels and troglodyte
caves offers an ideal base to tour the counties of York, Lincoln,
Derby, and Nottingham. The home of pilgrim father, William Brewster
is close by as are many historic houses and sites. Golf, horse
racing, fishing and antique fairs take place within half an hour
of Retford. Children over 12 welcome. Non smokers only please.

the downs. It is ideally situated for visiting the Cotswolds and

Glebe
Farm House - Loxley, Warwick, Warwickshire - 3 miles southeast
of Stratford-upon-Avon
This delightful country house is set in perfect surroundings in
the heart of the English countryside but with historic Stratford-upon-Avon
only three miles away and Warwick only eight. The owner, Kate
McGovern, cooks beautifully tempting meals using fresh home grown
vegetables, and has decorated the house tastefully using some
of her very own watercolor paintings. The three pretty ensuite
rooms have four-poster beds, color televisions, and tea/coffee
making facilities, with beautiful views of the countryside. Local
sporting activities include golf, shooting and riding.

Harescombe
Grange - Gloucester, Gloucestershire - 6 miles south of Gloucester
Harescombe Grange has been in the Hutton family since 1879. It
stands at five hundred feet in a large and peaceful garden on
the Cotswold escarpment. Beatrix Potter, a cousin of the family,
often stayed; she wrote about the house in her diary and was inspired
to write the story of the Tailor of Gloucester here. Historic
places within easy reach include Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester,
Bath, Bristol, Stratford, and Painswick. Food of a high standard
is served and special diets can be catered for, with many delicious
dishes using home grown produce. Meals are taken in the dining
room with the family. Log fires are lit in winter. Non smokers

The
Manor House - Ampney St Peter, Gloucestershire - 3 miles southeast
of Cirencester
The Manor House is situated in the picturesque village of Ampney
St Peter, close to the market town of Cirencester in the Cotswolds.
It is superbly decorated in a contemporary country house style
and offers guests great comfort in the heart of the English countryside.
This makes an excellent base from which to tour the central Cotswolds
including Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Stratford-upon-Avon
and Bath. Also convenient for Oxford.

The
Old Manor House - Halford, Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire
- 7 miles south of Stratford-upon-Avon
The Old Manor House dates back to about 1550 and is situated on
the edge of the village of Halford, on the Fosse Way between Stratford-upon-Avon
and the Cotswolds. The landscaped grounds run down to the River
Stour. Guests have exclusive use of drawing room and dining room.
There is also a tennis court for guests' to use. Its location
makes an ideal base for Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Broadway,
Oxford, and the Cotswolds. Jane Pusey is a cordon bleu cook. For
garden lovers there is Hidcote, Kiftsgate and Upton all within
fifteen minutes drive away. The National Agricultural Centre at
Kenilworth is 20-30 minutes drive which is where the Royal Show
is held. No smoking in bedrooms!

Farm - Salford, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire - 1 mile northwest
of Chipping Norton
Rectory Farm is a two hundred year old Cotswold country farmhouse
set in its own four hundred and fifty acre valley of unspoilt
farmland on the northern edge of the Cotswolds. The owners have
lived in the Cotswolds all their lives and have full knowledge
of the hidden and unspoilt remote villages of this area of outstanding
natural beauty. Situated halfway between Stratford-upon-Avon and
Oxford makes this location ideal for touring. Fly fishing is available
to guests on our two spring fed trout lakes.

Somerford
House - Little Somerford, Chippenham, Wiltshire - 10 miles
south of Cirencester
Situated three miles from the medieval town of Malmesbury on the
edge of the Cotswolds and about thirty five minutes from the historic
city of Bath. Somerford House is a four hundred year old traditional
stone farmhouse in the centre of the small village of Little Somerford.
This warm friendly house has recently been restored retaining
original features, and offering comfortable well furnished rooms
with views over the fields and gardens. The area is well served
with excellent restaurants and pubs as well as sporting facilities.

Lodge Farm - Tilston, Malpas, Cheshire - 12 miles south of
Chester
A warm welcome awaits you at Tilston Lodge, a beautiful Victorian
house set in sixteen acres of garden and pasture. Built as a gentleman's
hunting lodge it is now a comfortable home, peacefully situated
on the fringe of the village, in this tranquil corner of the unspoilt
Cheshire countryside. Rooms are traditionally furnished with antiques
to complement the original features of the house and have color

for touring Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales as well as the

and meet the fascinating collection of prize winning rare breed
