Day 2
After breakfast, we spend the morning at France's national art gallery, the Louvre. Once a royal palace, the Louvre now houses one of the world's most impressive collections of art. The building itself is a work of art with all of its exterior walls covered in statues and the entrance which is a futuristic glass pyramid in the central courtyard. Inside, the gallery is separated into 4 areas from Ancient Egyptian art through to modern art. It also houses possibly the world's most famous painting, Da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa'. During the afternoon, we'll visit the church of Saint Sulpice among many other famous Parisian landmarks.

Day 3
Today we've left entirely free for you to explore at your own pace.

Day 4
A wonderful day ahead today as we head out of the city to Versailles and its famous chateau. The Chateau de Versailles was originally a grand hunting lodge built for King Louis XIII around 1630. It was enlarged to its present size around 1676 and the gardens started in 1687. The sheer size and grandeur of the palace (the façade is 580 meters long) is best enjoyed from the formal gardens which are laid out in a 'formal' style and also contain the 'Grand Trianon' and the 'Petit Trianon' -small palaces built as retreats for the royal family. One of the many historically significant moments the chateau has witnessed is the formal recognition of the independence of the USA by England, France and Spain in 1783.
